Saltspring Air’s roo
ts started in 1985 when owner St.Clair McColl moved to the island to settle down with his wife and raise their three boys. After 18 years of commuting off the island to various flying jobs he decided he wanted to work where he lived. He wanted to give something back to the community.
It was soon apparent that the community was going to embrace the service and SaltSpring Air was ready to expand with more aircraft and a dedicated team of dispatchers, pilots, aircraft engineers, dock crew, and marketing team.
Today Saltspring Air has a fleet of planes and a first class team that keeps everything running smoothly.
Saltspring Air offers direct flights between Saltspring Island and downtown Vancouver and Vancouver Airport, Richmond and provides a scheduled service out of Maple Bay, Pat Bay and the other Gulf Islands and charter flights to many locations.
